Well surgery is coming quick. The date is set for the 17th of May!! EEK!! Just a lil back story on me.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when i was about 16. I have maybe ONE to TWO menstrual cycles a year. Well I have always wanted to be a mother since i was just a wee one, but once I was diagnosed I knew it would be hard for me. Once hubby and I were ready to start actively trying we saw a local fertility doctor. We had no insurance so everything we did had to be paid out of pocket. Which is REALLY expensive. This doctor put me on Clomid right away. by the 3rd month i was on the highest dose. I was on Clomid for 8 months with NO ovulation! It wasn't til I started talking with other women going through fertility treatments that the max you should be on Clomid is 6 months!! And generally if you havent ovulated by the 3rd month they usually stop! Well this doctor had me on it for 8 months and NEVER ran ANY of the tests that are supposed to be done while on this medication. We got REALLY frustrated at the fact that we spent all this money and didn't even get the proper care, so we stopped seeing the doctor. We continued to save money and research more doctors and treatment options. FINALLY we found Dr. Synn!! When we saw him, he listened to us and answered all our questions and IMMEDIATELY had appts for us to do all the testing that SHOULD have been done at the beginning of our journey!! This includes lots of tests such as sperm analysts, ovulation, blood work, blockage tests etc.
The last test I had was the blockage test. This test they shoot dye into your uterus to check and make sure that your tubes are open. Well, while I was laying on the table watching the dye fill my uterus, the tech started explaining what he was seeing. There was something covering 100% of my uterus. I obviously started FREAKING out!! It was still a week or so til I had the follow up appt with my Reproductive Endocrinologist. He explained to me that it could be anything from scar tissue, to cancer, to tumor, to fibroids, and so on. He told me I will need surgery to remove what is covering my uterus. They will also be going in and looking at my ovaries and tubes all that to make sure everything looks ok and that there is no concerning growths or anything! So, that is where we are right now.
I am so scared for the surgery. Not for the pain, or anything like that, but i am scared at what they are going to find! My grandmother had uterine cancer and had a FULL hystorectomy at 30!! And I am 28!!
